Select a second topic for an article. For the purposes of diversity and experience, you should attempt to target another magazine.
If you earlier selected one of the easier kinds or feature stories for assignment eight such as a how to article or character profile then perhaps you will want to attempt a problematic article.
Some students prefer to write a how to for the first attempt and a profile for the second story. That is satisfactory, also.
For this lesson you should once more follow the procedure outlined in Assignment Eight:
1. E-mail your professor a rough draft. He will do a critique and attach comments. You should wait until you have gotten the copyedited rough draft back before attempting to write a final version of your article.
2. Once you have the corrected/evaluated rough draft returned, make the appropriate changes and revisions. The final draft which you submit should be of the high quality necessary to get a story published in a commercial magazine.
COURSE FOOTNOTE: While there is no course requirement that you must get an article published before you can pass this course, it is highly recommended that you make the attempt to bring the course to fruition in such a positive manner. Should you be skilled and fortunate enough to achieve magazine publication during the duration of this course, please be so kind as to send a copy of the article to your professor. Many times the publication does not occur until several months after you complete the course. If this occurs, you are still requested to send a photocopy of the article.
