Resume Guide

This is a sample framework or format for developing a resume. Make sure to review the resume samples on the course Web site. The following tips will lead to a stronger, more clear and professional resume. You may also want to consult the resume resources at Career Services.

• Be clear with each description, but include enough information so the reader can tell what you did.
• Use key words such as "assessment", "developmentally appropriate" etc…
• Use a consistent format so information is easy to find (e.g. put all dates in the same location)
• The resume wizard in Microsoft Word may cause more problems than it is worth with formatting. I suggest making a table in word on your own.
• Make the margins on your page ½ inch (use as much space on a page as possible). · Be honest, don't include things you shouldn't or make anything up.
• Visit our course web site for examples.
• Spend time with it · Have friends proof read.
