Barley
DESCRIPTION: Hordeum sp. (commonly
called Barley) was known to many old-world people for more than 12,000 years
(Vortexhealth). It was used as the basic source of bread material in Europe
up to the 16th century. Hordeum is found in widely varying landscapes and
in high altitudes, but it cannot withstand hot and humid climates.
Decoction of barley is still known today as “Hyppocrate’s Tea”,
for it was once used by Hyppocrates as a detoxifying agent (vortexhealth).
