Serials Reduction survey
An online survey of faculty and staff regarding which serials to keep and which to cut was needed. A spreadsheet database of the subscribed journals had to be converted to an easily readable Web format, in both alphabetical and by subject organization. Clicking a journal title triggered an embedded, custom-built JavaScript which in turn created a form for the user to fill out (now disabled as the project is finished).

The databases were converted using Microsoft Word's mail merge capability. Had I already been familiar with regular expressions they would have been more appropriate for this task.

Likewise, the next time dynamically generated forms are needed (with variable content) Perl will be easier to work with, but it did demonstrate what is possible with JavaScript.

This should actually be redone in ColdFusion.
Two years later, this *was* redone in ColdFusion, successfully.
