Nasopalatine Canal Cyst

Etiology

Developmental

 

 

 

Predilection

Greater in males

Median age 40-60

 

 

Location

Anterior maxilla

Nasopalatine canal

 

Clinical Appearance

Asymptomatic

Pink bulge at the incisive papilla area

 

Radiographic Features

Well circumscribed radiolucency between the maxillary cental incisors

Often heart shaped

Microscopic Features

Cyst lined by squamous or respiratory epithelium

Blood vessels and small nerves in cyst wall

Treatment

Surgical removal
