Etiology

Autosomal dominant

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Predilection

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Location

Cleft Lip=Vermilion zone of maxillary lip in the area of the lateral incisors

Unilateral most common

Cleft Palate=Maxilla in the area of lateral incisors

Unilateral most common

Clinical Appearance

Can occur as cleft lip or cleft palate or both

Cleft Lip=Appears a cleft or opening in the soft tissue

Cleft Palate=Appear as a cleft or absence of bone

Treatment

Multiple surgical repair of tissue

Prosthetics of teeth missing

Speech therapy
