Neoplastic

Human herpes virus 9

 

 

Predilection

Greater in males

 

 

Location

Most common intraoral location hard palate and gingiva

Clinical Appearance

Purple macules, plaques or exophytic tumors

Microscopic Features

Unencapsulated tumor composed of spindle-shaped cells mixed with slit-like spaces containing red blood cells

Treatment

Surgical excision

Radiation therapy

Chemotherapy
