Cascade Lake

Description

Cascade Lake (60.14 ºN, 159.41 ºW) is located at 335 m asl in the northeastern Ahklun Mountains. The lake (3.1 km2) is 52 m deep and is set 4.2 km downstream from Cascade Glacier, which is among the largest glacial complexes in this region. Cascade Lake has multiple inflows; most of the sediment is supplied by the outlet stream from Cascade Glacier. In addition to the Cascade Glacier complex, at least four small cirques support glaciers that drain into the lake.

Meteorological data

Two water temperature loggers have been deployed since June 2004. Two air temperature loggers, one at the lake, one near the terminus of Cascade Glacier, have been deployed since June 2004 and August 2005, respectively. The data are available here.
