Grading rubric for E-Mail Assignments

1. Assignment is posted on time (note due date and time (Pacific Standard) on syllabus)

2. Addresses each of the required elements (refer to requirements for specific assignment )

3. Presents ideas in a clear and concise manner (not a first draft- response has been edited)

4. Holds the reader's attention all the way through

5. Includes details/examples to make the response clear and interesting (showing vs. telling)

6. Voice -paper is individual and stands apart from the rest

7. Author became involved in subject - offers own ideas (paper is not largely in quotes!)

8. Paper shows originality, insights, excitement, and/or humor

9. Paper draws upon course text, websites, assigned articles, VCC discussion, etc.

10. Cites sources utilized as appropriate.

11. Writing Conventions › grammar, capitalization, punctuation, spelling, paragraphing are essentially correct.
