You will probably need to look in more than one place to find all the information you need to do this activity. Use the textbook, the web, university or public libraries, or an encyclopedia if they help.

1. Find a particular site in a biome. So that each person in the class reports on a different biome/site combination, post the name of the biome and its location to the assignment database. If someone else has already posted that biome and location, pick another and post it. Do not duplicate biome and location. Pick your biome and location early.

2. Describe the identifying features of this biome: its dominant species, its characteristic temperature and moisture regimes. What type of soil is associated with this biome? What source(s) did you use for reference?

3. Find a picture of this biome on the web and enter its URL.
