Plenary Speakers
Mary Baine Campbell, Professor of English at Brandeis University, "Optics and 'Optics': Margaret Cavendish, point of view and the optical revolution." Campbell was a Guggenheim Fellow in 2003 . Her book, Wonder and Science won the James Russell Lowell Prize from the Modern Language Association in 2000.
Dr. Lucy Worsley, who is Chief Curator of Historic Royal Palaces (the organization that manages the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace State Apartments, the Banqueting House, Whitehall and Kew Palace), "The Making of the Exhibition 'Royalist Refugees: William and Margaret Cavendish at the Rubenshouse (1648-1660).'" Worsley co-curated the Cavendish exhibition at the Rubenshuis in Antwerp. She has a new biography of William Cavendish due out from Faber and Faber (Bloomsbury in the US) in the fall of 2007.
