Module 2: Legal Issues in Assessments

In this second module, you will begin to look at the legislation that plays a role in assessment and with a focus on how it impacts an IEP development.

Special Education as you know has a lot of oversight from legal sanctioning bodies because the Special Education process has traditionally been an adversarial process. So that means you have to pay special attention to ensuring that the child has all their rights met. The introduction of all these laws can be a real help to a psychometrist and any IEP team member because the law is so very clear on how to ensure that the child gets his educational needs met.

This module has a high concentration of readings from Special Education advocacy groups. Sit back relax and get ready to fill your mind with important information about assessments and the law.
