Web Activity: Explore Find at least three sites where the rights and needs of children are addressed. Also look for at least two examples of ethical guidelines for teachers. The National Education Association or NEA has one, as does the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). A distinction between common labor and a profession is the acceptance and adherence to a code of behavior; ethical guidelines for which you feel responsible. The other piece is the sense of honor in holding yourself and your peers to that standard and setting up ways to inform others of their performance in light of the standards of best practice. Write a brief paragraph discussing which set of guidelines you would choose, or develop your own set of ethics for teaching. You should now go to the virtual conference center and post your ideas there. Please read the responses of other students and reply to at least two peer entries.
