Visit the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) home page. Look for materials on discipline or classroom management.

Surf the web to find chat rooms specializing in behavior management. Consider joining one or contributing to some of the on-going discussions available at some of the university pages.

Surf the web to find chat rooms specializing in ethics of behavior management and behavior modification. Are there inconsistencies with children's rights and the rights of social scientists and teachers? Share your thoughts with others in the class, with the teacher, or with others at your school. Applied ethics is gaining popularity because of the critical nature and rapid advance of the discussion of rights and responsibilities.
  • Do you approve of Watson teaching little Albert to fear furry animals?
  • Did Skinner have the right to raise his child in a Skinner box?
  • Should children be bussed?
  • Do we have the right to pass children who have not passed competency tests, or promote them if they do not pass?
  • Is inclusion ethical? Are accommodation schools ethical?

These questions are just a few of the issues surrounding schools today. Look for sites that are addressing these questions and share some of your own issues in the VCC or with the professor.
