Activity Three – Short Answer Quiz

Directions: Using short answers, briefly describe or discuss the following:

  1. List the 10 disorders usually first diagnosed in infancy, childhood or adolescence.
  2. Explain the information placed on each of the five axes during diagnosis
  3. Define the Global Assessment of Functioning Scale (GAF).
  4. What is a mood disorder, and can a child have one?
  5. What is an anxiety disorder? What is the typical age of onset?
  6. Can a child have an adjustment disorder?

Now write a brief essay discussing the way the decision tree (DSM) was developed and whether or not it is adequately research. This will be an opinion piece, but it would be useful to have at least one expert supporting your position.
