Questions to consider:

What kind of indexing is offered?  Is it specific enough to find very specific kinds of facts and figures?

What is the arrangement of the source? Broad categories?  Alphabetic by specific topic?

Does it give statistical information?

Does it have tables of information? Textual information?  Both?

Which sources give information about countries?
 
 

Sample questions for Almanacs, Yearbooks, Annuals, Chronologies:

Can you find me a listing of all the U.S. President's wives and their children that I can copy?  I don't want to copy multiple pages if I can help it.
 
 

Can I find a statistic on how many deaths occur in the home due to falling?  I'd like to see some historical figures (a few decades worth) as well as some recent statistics.
