I have chosen two pieces
of work that I feel are important to me. They are the Assistive Technology Webquest and the Short Paper.
The Webquest was the most challenging for me. It was my first attempt at using several graphics, a template and
unfamiliar subject matter. During the webquest assignment, my son barely
escaped a fire in his apartment in San Francisco. He is alright, but lost
most of his possessions. I could not imagine how it would be if something
happened to him that would cause him to lose his physical and/or mental
capabilities in some way. I wondered what it would take for all of us to get
through such an ordeal. The webquest, particularly the visual impairment, is
a result of my thoughts regarding these issues that many people face on a
daily basis. I am also grateful to Nikkol Kramer in the Assistive Technology
Lab at the College of Education, who spent time familiarizing me with
assistive technology resources for this project.

Point is the piece I am most proud of. I enjoyed reading the book,
Defying The Crowd and then having an opportunity to be creative in my
power point presentation. This particular project introduced me to midi
music and sound effects. It also allowed me to think about technology
as another canvas that I can use to create with color, design and ideas.

ONE MORE PIECE-
The Short Paper inspired me. As I was writing it, I realized
that online learning and its impact on rural areas is a subject that needs a
great deal of research. I eventually revised this paper and turned it in as
part of my portfolio for the Curriculum and Instruction doctoral program.
I just learned that I was accepted into it last week! I am sure the paper
needs additional work, a dissertation's worth!
