Regular Maintenance
Regularly:
- Back up your computer. Identify important
files and make copies and store them in a safe place (on a
different machine or a removable disk).
- Install antivirus software and if possible
configure it to automatically download updates (See
http://www.nai.com).
- Check disks for any problems using
Scandisk
- Check how much free hard drive space is
available. Don't let the drive get completely full. Try to keep
the amount of free drive space to double the amount of RAM
installed. Empty Recycle Bin and trash temp files
- Defragment hard disk
- Listen to the "sound" of your machine,
especially the fan and hard drive
Procedures to Follow for Safe

possible)

disconnecting cables, and never force anything
- Keep magnets and food and drinks
away
- Don't change anything in the Windows Folder
