Welcome to the Web site for Dr. Michelle Miller of the NAU Psychology department! About me: I am currently an associate professor of psychology. I received my Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from UCLA in 1997 and worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Rice University from 1997 to 1999. My research focuses on language and memory processes, including the role of working memory in language processing, social and emotional influences on language, and pedagogical strategies that promote better learning in psychology courses. Currently, I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cognitive psychology, as well as the teaching practicum course for our graduate students.

I also work on strategies for using instructional technology to improve and redesign large, multi-section courses. To this end, I serve as a Redesign Scholar through the National Institute for Academic Transformation (NCAT). I also recently received a grant from the Arizona Board of Regents for a multi-year redesign project. If you are interested in arranging a speaking engagement on the topic of course redesign, instructional technology or assessing pedagogical strategies, please contact me by email.

If you are looking for course-related materials (overheads, handouts etc.), please visit the Blackboard Vista site for your course. © Michelle D. Miller, 2007
