1. For this one, I'd like for you to please "brainstorm" a situation 'close to home:' work, family, outside interests, or so forth. Please identify a situation and related research purpose for which you believe focus group interviewing would be appropriate. (*** It would be a plus if it directly relates to your own dissertation research! But don't worry if it doesn't, or you don't have a dissertation topic pinned down quite yet - you can choose another scenario).

a) Briefly characterize the situation and research purpose;
b) Explain why focus group interviewing would, in your opinion, be ideally suited to gathering data for (a);
c) Speculate as to who the ideal subjects would be. What characteristics would they possess? How would you find them?
