English 305w: Writing in Disciplinary Communities

Purpose: Most projects need a follow-up or a progress report. This lets your administrator or team-members know where the project is and what to expect. It is a good way to remind your administrator that the project you are working on is under control.

Goal: Practice being as specific as possible. Word choice matters.

Specifications: Use the template presented here as a basic format for your progress report.

TASKS ACCOMPLISHED
"As of [current date] the following goals are completed: [bullet your completed tasks]"

TASKS ON-GOING
"The following tasks are currently on-going and will be completed by [put the expected date]...."

TASKS PROBLEMS-SOLUTIONS

"There were a few delays because of X... Following is a short list of problems followed up with solutions." [if necessary, "Because of the delays the deadline date will change from X to Y"] You will, not, however have any deadlines that go beyond those assigned. Sorry but this is a classroom. Dictatorship.
