PL599 : The Class : Creating Character : Using Focal Points : Readings

Readings

The readings are categorized by the following topics that can become focal points and attractive forces in a community: tourism, historic preservation, design and zoning, art/culture (sense of place), housing design/traditional neighborhood design and transportation (there are many possible foci, these are only a few). Select the topic of interest to you and enjoy! Read at least 3 of the papers and sites, more if you are reading news articles.You might want to print out the readings list and readings if you would like to read up on more items after the course is over. The course readings will go offline at the library reserves after finals week.
