Carrasco's Case Studies in BL/ESL Classroom

Introduction In this lesson I display my own research in Bilingual and ESL settings. I always seek comments and reactions to my work especially from teachers. I hope you will also get to know me better, my philosophy and my mission--as a result. Please read these articles carefully; and if the methodology sections seem boring, then skim these sections and go to the descriptions. But quite often the methodology helps to make sense of the description as in the article on Lupita.

To complete this Topic successfully, please complete the following activities in the order shown below:

icon TEXTBOOK READING: Read Chapter 2, "Class," in your textbook. Rist's self-fulfilling prophecy, or what Rosenthal called the Pygmalion Effect should be understood.

icon ON-LINE LESSON: Case Studies

icon GROUP ACTIVITY: Review Carrasco's Case Studies

Once you have completed these activities you should:

Go on to Topic 4: Communication with Parents
or
Go back to Culture as Communication
