SCHEDULE

**Students who choose to participate for two semesters will complete all assignments through Week 8
during the first semester of the course, leaving the project implementation through Week 16
due by the end of the second semester.**
 

Module 1

Week 1

READINGS (electronic reserves for ETC 695 at Cline Library):

  • Schloss, P.J., Smith. M.A. (1999). Conducting Research. Prentice Hall: Columbus OH. (Chapters 4 & 7)
  • Gay. L.R., Airasian, P. (2000). Educational Research. Prentice Hall: Columbus, OH. (Chapters 1 & 17)
  • Begin Portfolio development: gather and write documents for Section 1
  • Attach a formal letter of application to an email to Becky to take ETC 695 that includes:
    • list of coursework;
    • self-reflection about career goals, current experience with technology, strengths gained from program, evaluation of the program expectations, commitment to the online learning environment
  • VCC: questions, comments about readings and Section 1

Week 4

  • Continue Portfolio development: write reflections for artifacts (at least 2 paragraphs of your in-depth, thoughtful commentary about the artifact and why it is meaningful to you: challenging, the best, the worst, shows the most growth, learning...)
  • Email completed Proposal to Becky
  • Begin gathering research for Literature Review of your Capstone project content
  • VCC: questions about Literature Review

Week 5

  • Complete portfolio documents for Sections 1 and 2
  • Learn FolioLive interface and process for uploading and organizing documents into your portfolio
    (plan to practice and delete several times before uploading final work--remember to play to learn!)

Weeks 6-7

Week 8

  • Submit Literature Review to Becky by the end of Week 8. Your Literature Review will be published in the NAU College of Education online newsletter as part of the celebration of student excellence.
  • Continue Implementation of your project
  • Work in FolioLive: upload documents

Weeks 9-12

  • Continue Implementation of your project
  • Begin writing the process description,implementation and summary analysis of your project
  • Remember to work in FolioLive: upload documents
  • VCC: questions about project implementation

Module 3

Week 13

  • Visit FolioLive to review an example of process description, implementation and summary analysis
  • Write the process description, implementation and summary analysis of your project; email it to your peer reviewers for comment by the end of Week 13 (reviewers, please respond by Wednesday of Week 14)
  • Complete your portfolio at FolioLive
  • Email Becky to schedule the day and time for your portfolio presentation during the next 2 weeks before finals week

Weeks 14-15

Week 16

  • Complete portfolio revisions, if needed
  • Send CDs to Becky for your MEd in Ed Tech file and program archives
