This is a microscopic view (25 X) of the quart/feldspar temper in an Apache fingernail indented sherd (either Rim Rock or Strawberry Variety) found in Black Canyon Rockshelter along the Mogollon Rim of Arizona. Notice that the temper is poorly sorted and medium to coarse in size. Also, note that the core is reddish-brown.
