Topic 3: Healthy School Environment

Purpose:This topic examines the role of the Health School Environment as one of the 8 components of a Coordinate School Health Program. The purpose of this topic is to help you, the student, to understand that schools need to provide a healthy, safe, and supportive environment that fosters learning.

After completing this topic, the student will be able to:

  1. Describe the importance of a healthy school environment to the learning and health of children
  2. Describe the components of a healthy school environment
  3. Describe the action steps needed to develop and implement a healthy school environment
