School Health Services

Think about what you learned in the text and websites highlighted in the Web Activity. Then reflect on the following questions:

  1. Describe the need for schools to become involved in the delivery of primary health care for children?
  2. What are the essential functions of the school health services and who delivers these services?
  3. How does a school based health center (sometimes called a school clinic) differ from a regular school health program? What is a "school linked" center? Why are school based health centers sometimes controversial?

In a word processing document, write and save your responses to the questions above. Then, go to your online portfolio and find the item entitled, "School Health Services." Open this item, and in the blank space provided, copy and paste your ideas. Then press the "Publish" button to post this assignment to your online portfolio.

Once you have finished you should:

Go to the VCC Activity
or
Go back to Topic 6: School Health Services
