The GartnerGroup suggests that there will be 10,000 vortals
in a year or two. I think vortals could fundamentally change
the nature of the Web as we understand it. Initially, I think growth
will come from owners of comparable Web sites who simply add a
discussion forum and/or live chat area to transform them into a
vortals. However, only high-quality vortals will survive, requiring
good content and a good editor.
