Born
in Holstein, Iowa John Rothfork graduated with honors from Morningside
College in Sioux
City. He earned graduate degrees from the University of
Iowa, Truman University, & the University of New Mexico.
Before coming to Northern Arizona University, Rothfork taught at
West Texas A&M University & New Mexico Tech
(1970-98). Rothfork co-edited The New Mexico Humanities
Review for 15 years (1978-93). His writing
is both analytic & creative. Translated into French,
German, Polish & Japanese, his critical essays have been
published in 11 countries. In addition to professional writing,
Rothfork is also interested in American pragmatism &
postmodernism, specifically in the work of
Richard Rorty & Charles
Taylor. Abroad he has taught at:
