Types of opinions rendered by the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court may render one of six types of opinions:

3. Concurring Opinions

Suppose the Supreme Court issues a majority opinion. What happens to the Justices who disagree with the majority?

If one or more of the Justices agree/s with the majority's outcome but disagree/s with the reasons for that outcome, they may write one or more concurring opinions. A concurring is any opinion in which the Justices agree with the outcome of a case but disagree with the majority as to the reason for that outcome.
