Group Assignment 1: Are Salespeople Made or are they Born?

It is a popular myth that salespeople are a result of their genes as opposed to influences from their environments while growing up. In your opinion, what is the influence from "being born that way" as compared to specific influences in their lives?

What affect does self-determination play? For example a person might decide that they want to learn how to influence others and therefore study this and put themselves in these types of situations.

Can a person who wants to be an "influencer" (a salesperson) accomplish this if he or she is not "born that way?"
