In the last topic, you learned, first about career path in sales, second, how sales is influening skills and thus is essential to most professional careers, and third, you acquired some basic tools to actively manage any career path that you might seek

In this topic you will learn specific personal management skills necessary for salespeople and also necessary for all professionals.

The purpose of this topic is to continue your development as a professional by emphasizing that management of self and personal management underlies all successful professional careers.

When you have completed this topic, you should:
  1. Know the five essential personal development skills of sales and selling that are needed to achieve a high degree of professionalism.

  2. Be familiar with your own personal level of self-esteem -- the key ingredient for success.

  3. Understand the basics of interaction with and leadership of teams -the major means of implementing consultative selling.
