NAU Policies that Affect Students
Academic Integrity
Many instructors will want you to be aware of the university policy on academic integrity, including both deliberate misconduct and cases of unintentional plagiarism. Some instructors may make use of Blackboard's plagiarism detection tool, which is called SafeAssign. You can read more about these issues, including disciplinary actions that can be taken, in the NAU Student Handbook under Policies/Academic Policies.

FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) entitles students to certain privacy rights. Students should review their rights under FERPA to understand the protections that are automatic, and additional privacy protections that can be requested.
