Science Prerequisites Course Description BIO 181:
Unity of Life I:
Life of the CellIntroductory course for biology majors. Emphasizes the unifying molecular and cellular principles of all life on earth. 3 hrs. lecture, 3 hrs. lab. Prerequisites: high school algebra, biology and chemistry.
CHM 130:
Fundamental Chemistry Principles of chemistry course for students requiring only one semester of chemistry and those proceeding to a one-semester organic course. Prerequisites: high school chemistry or CHM 100 plus intermediate algebra. CHM 151L:
Chemistry I Lab Introduces important lab practices, stoichiometry, and the analysis of chemical unknowns. 2 hrs. lab including lecture when appropriate. Corequisite: CHM 151 or 130. BIO 201:
Anatomy and Physiology I Integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, sensory, and endocrine systems in health and disease. 3 hrs lecture, 3 hrs. lab. Prerequisite: BIO 181 BIO 202:
Anatomy and Physiology II Body fluid, cardiovascular, digestive respiratory, urinary, and reproductive systems in health and disease. 3 hrs. lecture, 3 hrs. lab. Prerequisites: BIO 201 NTS 256 or
NTS 135:
Fundamentals of Nutrition Science Science of human nutrition, nutrient sources, functions and interactions; physiological needs throughout the life cycle; role of nutrition in health and disease. Prerequisite: college biology or chemistry.
