Order your college transcripts as early as possible. Most problems with the application process pertain to the late arrival of transcripts. Note, we do not accept applications if ALL previous transcripts are not included.

Since the application form is online and is saved to a datbase whenever you update it, we recommend filling in the
application form at your leisure to make sure everything is correct before your final submission. You will print your
final submission and include the hard copy in your application materials.

Failure to follow instructions can result in denial of application and/or loss of application points. The following suggestions will help you successfully complete the application and receive the maximum amount of points possible:
- Do not staple your application pages together
- Do not change the format of the application.
- Do not exceed 750 characters on any essay question.
- Be sure that every section of the application is typed in black ink.

When completing the coursework section of the application transfer students should compare course descriptions of previous coursework with the
science prerequisite course descriptions at NAU.

After completing your application, we encourage you to have someone proofread your work with special attention to the essay section. If you know someone in the health care profession, they would be an ideal candidate for proofreading the essays.

Keep in mind that all application essays are in lieu of a face-to-face interview. Therefore answer questions in a manner that reflects your individuality as a future Dental Hygiene professional.

Although portfolios, pictures, resumes, colored paper, and reference letters are often included in other applications, these items are not even considered as part of our process. Please do not include them.

When communicating with department staff or faculty keep in mind that your conversations are a reflection of who you are, what you will bring to the program and may influence admission decisions. Remain respectful, professional, and courteous at all times.
