Demonstrate knowledge of prevalent diagnoses (e.g., depression, anxiety, conduct disorders) and their characteristics as they pertain to educational programming and educational interventions for students identified as E/BD
In this module, you will become familiar with current diagnostic tools and learn the prevalent diagnoses found in school age youth.
You will need to spend some time reading and reviewing the DSM-IV. You can use any version of the 4 th edition. At NAU, the easiest way to get the DSM-IV is in the nursing section of the bookstore. The text is considered a professional tool and is generally not shared with the public at large. You will want to honor and value that insight, probably and keep your materials in a professional library rather than sharing them with peers who might misuse them.
