Doing Two Things at Once: Button Runner

  1. Button Runner allows you to activate two or more different buttons at once (such as activating an animation, GhostWriter, and BlabberMouth simultaneously). To do this, create button for each action first and give each button a unique name. These buttons can be made invisible and very small if desired and don't even have to be on the same card.
  2. Create a new button and when on the Actions menu select New Button Actions.
  3. From the list of New Button Actions, select ButtonRunner.
  4. Click on Use this NBA then type in the names of each of the buttons to activate, one on each line.
  5. Click on OK then Done.

Automatic Actions

  1. HyperStudio can automatically do an action when either arriving at a card, leaving a card, or waiting a few seconds after arriving at a card.
  2. To have HyperStudio do an action when arriving or leaving a card, from the Objects menu select About this Card.
  3. Click on either arriving at this card or leaving this card.
  4. Now select an action to perform.
  5. To have HyperStudio automatically activate a button a few seconds after arriving at a card, create a new button and set the action for it.
  6. Click on Automatic timer and type in the amount of seconds to wait before the button will be automatically activated.

Hiding and Showing Text Objects, Buttons, or Graphic Objects

  1. You can hide or show any Text Object, Button, or Graphic Object in HyperStudio using the HideShow NBA (such as having a Text Object "appear" on a card or having a Graphic Object "disappear").
  2. Create a Text Object, Button, or Graphic Object and make sure that the object has a unique name.
  3. Create a new button and when on the Actions menu select New Button Actions.
  4. From the list of New Button Actions, select HideShow.
  5. Click on Use this NBA and then type the name of the object you wish to hide or show, select what type of object it is, and select if you want to hide it, show it, or flip it from its current state.
  6. You may also choose to use a transition as the object is revealed or hidden.
  7. Click on OK then Done.

SpellCheck
